The fifth season is expected to take the family through the 1990s. Melda Staunton will play the role in the replacement of Queen Elizabeth II from Olivia Colman in the forthcoming 5th season. Meanwhile, Prince Philip will be played by Jonathan Pryce. 
Meanwhile, Dominic West will take on the role of Prince Charles (now King Charles III). Princess Diana will be played by Elizabeth Debicki. On the other side, Princess Margaret will be played by Lesley Manville. Jonny Lee Miller will also portray Prime Minister John Major.
